Aunt Mary and I took Tyson to this farmstead today in Overland Park. It's basically a big petting zoo with lots of things to do and the best part it is free to get in! If any of you come to visit who have children we have to go!
There are several areas where you can pay 25 cents for goat food and feed the goats! This was a hit with Tyson! I was very surprised that he wanted to do this! The larger goats were behind the fence and you couldn't go in and actually feed them, you had to do it through the fence,
This is a huge barn that you can go in and go down either of the slide! If you look closely in the walkway in the middle you can see Aunt Mary and Tyson's head as they walk to the slide to go down! There are several different playground areas all with a farm theme!
There is also a dairy barn where they have scheduled milkings where you can see someone milk a cow the old fashioned way! You can also say hi to Charlotte who was eating and didn't want much to do with us. There are several educational stations in the bar where you can 'milk' a fake cow as well. Outside the barn they had a cow and a brand new as in just born calf (the calf was still wet and the momma cow had some things exiting her) who was eating breakfast from it's momma (I wasn't sure how else to explain it to a 2 1/2 year old in the moment! ha ha!)
This was my favorite part of the morning! There was another little area of little baby goats where you could buy a bottle of milk for $1 and feed the goats! It was hilarious when Tyson got that bottle one goat latched on and Tyson was attacked by about 5 others! Apparently they were hungry! Tyson kept trying to get the bottle of this little black goats mouth (see above picture) and he wouldn't let go! Tyson was getting a little irritated by this as well as the other goats wanting a bottle! At one point he was pulling the bottle trying to get it out of the mouth and he and the goat were just going in circles over and over and Tyson was yelling at it! It was SO funny Aunt Mary and I almost fell over right there laughing!
