We love Skype!

Aunt Mary bought a laptop with her graduation money and it has a webcam built in!! We are SO excited about this! We downloaded Skype and now we can video call Derick any time of the day!! We are so thankful that Aunt Mary is sharing her computer with us and that Derick's friend he is in training with is sharing his with him!! It's been SO great to be able to see Derick again! It's been 4 weeks going on five since we've seen him! Tyson wasn't sure about the video calls at first but now he brings toys to show Daddy and tries to get him through the screen!! It's super fun and we're so happy to be able to have this technology!

Fun in the sun and a Great Uncle Too!

Great-Uncle Rick came to visit last night!

The sprinkler attachment I bought for Tyson so he can cool off in the summer sun!!

Sportin' shades while playing in the sprinkler!

Tyson chose these Lightening McQueen swimming trunks over the Thomas trunks!

"Daddy's car!!!"

Every time we see a police car, no matter what agency it is for, Tyson yells "Daddy's car!!!" Derick had a take home car at LSO so Tyson recognizes all law enforcement cars as Derick's car! We stopped in Topeka on our way home from Nebraska today to visit my friend at the police department and thought I'd snap a photo of Tyson next to one of the cars like Daddy drove at the first police department where he worked!

Weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Peters

Tyson and I went up to Elk Creek this weekend and spent some time at the Farm. Gary and Kathy kept Tyson overnight Saturday night while I went to Lincoln and had some much needed 'mommy time' with Kristine! I was sad to be away from him and felt guilty for leaving him over night, but we all survived! It was fun to go shopping and to dinner without Tyson!!
When we got to the Farm Friday afternoon Tyson helped Papa Gary feed the calves! I couldn't believe Tyson walked in the lot with Gary! He was a little apprehensive at first being so close to the calves but in the end he was excited that he helped feed them supper!

Morning at the Farmstead

Aunt Mary and I took Tyson to this farmstead today in Overland Park. It's basically a big petting zoo with lots of things to do and the best part it is free to get in! If any of you come to visit who have children we have to go!
There are several areas where you can pay 25 cents for goat food and feed the goats! This was a hit with Tyson! I was very surprised that he wanted to do this! The larger goats were behind the fence and you couldn't go in and actually feed them, you had to do it through the fence,

This is a huge barn that you can go in and go down either of the slide! If you look closely in the walkway in the middle you can see Aunt Mary and Tyson's head as they walk to the slide to go down! There are several different playground areas all with a farm theme!

There is also a dairy barn where they have scheduled milkings where you can see someone milk a cow the old fashioned way! You can also say hi to Charlotte who was eating and didn't want much to do with us. There are several educational stations in the bar where you can 'milk' a fake cow as well. Outside the barn they had a cow and a brand new as in just born calf (the calf was still wet and the momma cow had some things exiting her) who was eating breakfast from it's momma (I wasn't sure how else to explain it to a 2 1/2 year old in the moment! ha ha!)

This was my favorite part of the morning! There was another little area of little baby goats where you could buy a bottle of milk for $1 and feed the goats! It was hilarious when Tyson got that bottle one goat latched on and Tyson was attacked by about 5 others! Apparently they were hungry! Tyson kept trying to get the bottle of this little black goats mouth (see above picture) and he wouldn't let go! Tyson was getting a little irritated by this as well as the other goats wanting a bottle! At one point he was pulling the bottle trying to get it out of the mouth and he and the goat were just going in circles over and over and Tyson was yelling at it! It was SO funny Aunt Mary and I almost fell over right there laughing!

Random pictures from the weekend

Me and Tyson before Auntie Mary's graduation!

Tyson asked for these plastic baggies and then he wanted to put his shoes in them. So I obliged. He picked them up and showed them to me and then said, "Mommy, I'm going to work now!!"
I'm not sure where that came from but it was super cute and I had to share.

Tyson can get outside on his own but he's unable to reach the door to let himself back in! Tyson and Buddy sat at the door for a while tonight waiting for someone to let them in!

"My new slide!!!"

Grandma and Grandpa Seberger thought Tyson needed something fun for the yard since we'll be living here for a year! It's not just for Tyson, but for "all their grandkids". Considering he's the only one right now, I think that's their way of making it so they aren't spoiling him while he's here! Tyson was VERY excited to try it out hence no shoes and shirt (we just got finished with a bath). He keep saying, "Slide? For me!!! MY SLIDE??" It was super cute and he was SUPER excited!

Our Soldier

Derick sent me these pictures today. He is now at Camp Shelby, Mississippi for training through the end of June. He's somewhat been enjoying it as they have been learning new fighting tactics, rolling over in Humvee's and shooting guns. He said today that he'll be working in a prison when he gets to Afghanistan but orders can change once in country.

Helping Grandma water the flowers

Tyson's new favorite thing is to help Grandma Cindy water her flowers! All day and every night until she is ready he says, "Hep Gramma water flowers??" It's the highlight of his day!

Balls!

Today we went to Auntie Becca's boss's house to play! The previous owners of his house were owners of the Discovery Zone and they had a built in ball pit in their basement! Tyson had SO much fun playing! At one point Becky lost her cell phone so all three of us were swimming around in the balls trying to find it! It was pretty funny and would have been entertaining had someone been watching us!
This slide is coming from the main floor to the basement and into the ball pit. It's a little steep and dark so Aunt Becky took Tyson down it. Neither of them loved the ride so it only happened once!

This is the other way to get to the balls...
We had lots of fun and Tyson definitely wants to go back!

He loves the camera!

Summer shoes!

Tyson needed some 'summer' shoes so while at Old Navy I couldn't pass up the cutest little flip flops! So far they have stayed on his feet through the grass and running! He even wanted to put them on with his jammies!
