Hotel pictures

This is the BIG Buzz Lightyear that was part of our hotel! If you look down by his feet you can see Tyson and Derick standing next to him!! This gives you an idea of how big the figure is!

This is the outside of the building we stayed in. Behind the Fantasia book was a staircase!

Our Disney Trip in a Nutshell...

Well, it's Sunday afternoon and we made it home! We had such a great time on our vacation!! I think we need a vacation EVERY year!!

Our trip started Sunday afternoon 4/11/2010 when we drove to KC and stayed with my parents that night. Our flight to Orlando left Monday morning around 8:50am. We had a direct flight which was great! Tyson did pretty good on the flight, he was a little antsy towards the end of it, but hey, aren't we all?? Tyson was in the middle of a tantrum as we started our decent into Orlando and the ride became VERY bumpy!! We were going through some thick clouds that didn't make for a smooth ride! BUT that bumpy ride made Tyson stop screaming! I, on the other had wanted to scream! I am not a fan of turbulence! Tyson was so sweet and held my hand and was rubbing my back saying, "It's ok mommy! Don't be scared!" It was bumpy and I was scared, but we landed safely!! Thank the Lord!

We arrived at Disney's All Star Movies resort around 1:30 or so Monday and got checked in and had some lunch and then walked around the resort! It was so cute!! Each building had a theme based off a Disney movie. The building we stayed in was Fantasia. There was a Toy Story building, 101 Dalmatians, and Herby as well. There may have been a couple more but I don't remember what they were! It was pretty cool though! I will post a few picture of the HUGE Buzz Lightyear and Woody figures as well as the end of our building! It was neat!
After we explored the resort we played at the playground for a while and just hung out! We had dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe that night where Tyson was so tired he couldn't stay awake to eat (see pictures from Disney Day 1 post!)

Tuesday was the first day we went to a park. We headed to Magic Kingdom where we discovered Tyson doesn't like roller coasters and solidified his love for trains! He must get that from his Great-Grandpa Cantral!! We walked through the park, rode the train twice, had lunch. We basically did a lot of walking since the first ride we took him on scarred him for life and when we would mention the word 'ride' he was not happy! Derick and T went on the tea cups and those didn't go over well either. Apparently daddy made them spin too fast! We left the park in the early afternoon and headed back to the hotel for some fun in the sun in the swimming pool!!

Wednesday we ventured out to Epcot in the morning and Animal Kingdom in the afternoon. Epcot was really neat but not really geared towards kids. We found a nice playground that Tyson played at for a while. We also went on the Finding Nemo 'ride' which was basically a slow moving ride indoors and took you on Nemo's journey. It was neat but in the dark so Tyson didn't like it. We hit a few more things at Epcot and after lunch went over to Animal Kingdom.
Animal Kingdom was packed. I couldn't believe the number of people there! The waiting time to go on the safari was about an hour so we didn't wait for that, therefore we didn't see any animals. We met Mickey there again and of course, rode the train...twice. We headed back to the hotel for pool time before heading back to the Magic Kingdom and rode the train again and walked around. We were there at dark so we were able to see the castle at night. It was beautiful!! You really feel like you're in a different world there!! Very magical!!

Thursday we went to Disney's Hollywood Studio's where Derick was able to ride the Tower of Terror (the only big kid ride he went on the entire trip). At the Studio's they have Playhouse Disney Live! It was SO cute! Tyson was so happy during this 22 minute stage show!! I almost cried seeing him so happy and having so much fun watching his 'shows' live!! We saw Mickey and friends, Handy Manny with his tools, Little Einsteins and Tigger and Pooh! It was cute and it's a must-do for anyone who goes there and has a child who watches these shows!! I think Derick and I enjoyed it just as much as Tyson did!!
After Hollywood Studio's we went back to the hotel to...wait for it....SWIM! This is a common theme if you hadn't noticed!!

Friday we went back to Magic Kingdom AGAIN and rode the train twice, walked through Minnie's house THREE times and had lunch! That afternoon was pool time again!

Saturday morning we packed up and headed out. Our flight left at 12:55. We arrived in KC around 2:30 and went out to Mom and Dad's for the afternoon and night. We returned to Lincoln today around noon!

Every evening we went to Downtown Disney for dinner. We ate at several places down there and walked around. Tyson rode the little train several times (the kind that just goes in a circle 5 times). There are many shops and just a fun place to walk around.

One of the best things was the kids swimming pool at the resort! It was maybe a foot deep, if that. It was so nice to be able to let Tyson swim and play freely in it! Derick and I enjoyed watching him play with other kids and lay by the pool soaking up the sun and having a few 'mommy and daddy' drinks!!

We had the most amazing weather this week as well! It was mostly sunny with a few fair weather clouds and a light breeze every day!! I would say the average temp was around 79-82 degrees daily!! It was perfect! It rained for about 5 minutes one evening!! I was SO happy the weather was in our favor!

We decided that the next trip to Disney won't be until our next child (no I am not pregnant) is at least 6 or 7 years old!! It was fun to see Tyson so excited to meet all his favorite characters but we didn't get to ride many rides or get the full Disney experience! We also decided that our next vacation will consist of a warm location and a hotel with a kids pool!

All in all we had a great time. It was nice to have some alone time with my boys with no worries or responsibilities for a week!!

Disney Day 5

Tyson in Minnie's house. It was SO cute. I want to live there! Ha ha! In Minnie's house you could sit on the furniture, open the fridge, press buttons! He LOVED it! We walked through it three times in one morning!! Mickey's house was cute but not as fun because things were roped off and you weren't allowed to touch anything!

We caught the parade at Magic Kingdom the last day we were there! It was very cute and Tyson enjoyed it! This was one of the few times he was just super excited and happy while we were there!

Hollywood Studios

We saw Disney Playhouse Live at Hollywood Studios! It was SO cool! They had Handy Manny, Mickey and Friends, Little Einsteins and Tiger and Pooh! They were puppets that came up out of the floor. There was a storyline and everything! It was so cute and by far the most excited we've seen T this entire trip!!

The last of day 2-Magic Kingdom

When we returned from the park today we found this in the window! Tyson's toys!! Housekeeping lined up some of his toys in the window! It was cute! As we walked to our room I noticed cute displays in every window!! I thought it was cute they did that but Tyson was less than pleased. He said, "These DO NOT belong here!"

Almost finished with day 2 pictures!

Tyson was SO excited to ride the Barn Buster roller coaster...

It was so much fun on the way up...

...but no so much on the way down!! He did NOT like it...

We thought the teacups would be fun for him. But he didn't like them either, just didn't get a good picture of it!!
