"Hi Thomas!"

We got these new Thomas pj's for Tyson last night. He loves trains! We told him that the train is named Thomas. He was holding the jams in Target and looking at them and kept saying, "Hi Thomas, Hi Thomas!!" He was very excited. He loves these so much that I had to wrestle them off of him this morning to get him dressed for school!! He almost won, but I wasn't going to allow it! After I peeled them off of him, he wouldn't let go of them! So he won that battle, he was allowed to take his PJ's to school with him. He had such a tight grip on them there was no way I was going to attempt that battle! I'd rather him take them with him to school than wear them to school!!! Anyway, he loves his Thomas jams.

The Erwin's came to town!

Double Trouble!

The Erwin's from Topeka made a trip to Lincoln this weekend to hang out with us and watch their beloved KU lose to the Huskers!! It was a really fun weekend! Auntie Becky was here too with her friend, and we got to meet Troy Erwin for the first time!! Tyson had fun holding him and giving him kisses! It was a good weekend and we were sad to see them go back to Kansas.

Bath Time!!

Tyson received letters and numbers for the tub as one of his birthday gifts!! He loves baths and he loves toys, so this was perfect!! As you can see, they stick to the wall! Educational and fun! Can you find his name in the picture??!!

Tyson's 2 year check-up

Tyson had his 2 year well child check today. Boy was it fun. He weighs 27lbs putting him in 45th percentile for weight. He is checking it at 35 inches tall putting him in the 75th percentile for height. Tall and skinny. I can't remember what his head measured in at...it's a big nog that's for sure!
This was our first visit with our new Pediatrician. Derick's long time friend is a nurse at this office and recommended him. Poor Berg had to be the mean one and give Tyson 2 shots; his Hep A and the first of 2 flu shots! We get to go back in 30 days for the second flu shot-if anyone would like to go in my place feel free to call :) Tyson screamed the minute we left the waiting room to go back to the exam room and didn't stop for more than 3 minutes at a time for the entire exam. He hates being poked and prodded, his head, his ears, the doctor listening to his heart. It took me using my entire upper body to hold his legs down and Derick at the other end holding his arms down for the doctor to look in Tyson's ears! You would have thought the kid was being beaten!! Then came the shots, and lets just say they didn't go over well. But he's alive and kicking and most importantly healthy and right on mark for development, so we're pleased!! We don't have to go back until he's 3 and no more shots until Kindergarten! YAY!

Tyson's 2nd Birthday Party!!

We celebrated Tyson's 2nd birthday Saturday along with my cousin's daughter Ava who turns 3 on the fourth. Tyson's birthday is actually the 5th. We had a lot of fun!! Grandma and Grandpa Seberger along with Auntie Becky came up from KC. Grandpa and Grandma Peters along with Great-Grandpa George and Great-Grandma Marion all made the trip from Tecumseh and Fairbury! Some of my dad's side of the family was there as Ava's Grandpa Pat and my dad are brothers. Derick and his mom made about 45 hamburger patties, Michele had all sorts of side items and we had birthday cake! Tyson needed some help with opening his gifts. There was so much going and he wasn't quite sure what to think! He'd open one gift and start playing with the toy and get distracted so I'd start opening another one with him and he'd take over. It wa a fun day! Tyson had so much engery that he didn't even nap! He was up until about 9:30pm with no nap and no major melt downs!! The following are some random pictures from the party.

Halloween

Tyson's 2nd Halloween didn't go as I had planned. He refused to put on his monkey costume. We even bribed him with candy and he still wouldn't put it on! We still went over to the Placek's for some trick-or-treating fun! Tyson helped Kristine hand out candy to their trick-or-treaters! He was such a big helper!! He would run to the door when their were kids and Kristine would hand him a piece of candy and he would put it in each child's bag! He never once tried to keep some for himself!! It was so cute! He made his momma and daddy so proud!! When the kids would leave, Tyson would lean out the door and say, "bye kids!!" It was so adorable!!! He carried the bowl of candy around the house and when the next set of kids came he'd run to the door with it and hand more out!! It was a lot of fun!! Next year we'll attempt the costume again!

I wish I could see his face! He looks so sad from this view!
My sweet little boy! Doesn't he look so innocent??

This one totally looks like a Senior Picture!

Future Husker!!

Saturday was a nice day so we took advantage and went to the park!!

Nice shoes...

Tyson likes my high heels! He can walk better in them than I can!! Derick isn't thrilled about this but Tyson was pretty proud!!

Playin' at the park

My parents came up this weekend and we had Tyson's 2 year pictures (holy cow, can't believe he's going to be 2) taken. We went to this cute little park here in Lincoln. Grandpa and Tyson had fun riding the "puppy". I think it was maybe an aligator, but Tyson kept calling it a puppy. He even gave it kisses! The pictures went a lot smoother than I had anticipated. I knew they wouldn't as be as easy as last years, but I hoped for the best and expected the worst. It's hard to get a 2 year old to pose for more than 2 seconds at a time when you've let him loose in a park! To my surprise, we had no major melt downs and the photographer said she was able to get some cute shots.

Potty Time!

We've decided to give potty training a try. Try is the key word here. Tyson has been asking several times to "go potty". We decided we'd give it a whirl. Sunday he spent about 40 minutes straight on his "big boy potty" with no results. I did laundry, cleaned the bathrooms, read him a couple books and he brushed his teeth. I even stuck his hand in warm water to see if that would help him along. But nothing! We tried it again later that evening and he didn't end up going either. But he is very excited to sit on the potty and he told Daddy over and over when he got home that "I go potty, I go potty!" It was very cute, but the kid just doesn't want to get off the pot! He threw two of the biggest fits in his 23 month history yesterday when it was time to put his diaper back on! We want to start being very consistent with it since he's showing interest in trying, but the aftermath is what is making me not want to potty train the kid! We'll see, yesterday was only day 1...I talked to his teacher at daycare and let her know we're starting to try. She said she's been letting him stand at the toilet there while she changes other kids diapers. I asked if maybe she could sit him on it since we're teaching him to go sitting, not standing. I think if he stood it could get a little messy! Anyway, I couldn't resist taking a picture of our first official potty training session!

Corn Husking...

We went to the Nebraska State Corn Husking contest Saturday. Yes, there is a statewide competition for corn husking...news to me too :) This is something Derick did growing up with his dad and grandfather. Anyway, they pick corn the old-fashioned way with a hook on their hand husking and picking the corn off the stock one cob at a time while the wagon pulled by horses is behind them. Tyson liked the horses until he was face to face with one. He was able to ride in the wagon with Grandpa Gary after Grandpa's pick and he loved that! It was a fun and interesting morning...I still just don't see the fun in walking through a corn field to see who can pick the most corn!! Sometimes I ask myself how I ended up with this small town farm boy?

Tyson and Ava

We went over to my cousin Michele's last night to help move and desk and for dinner. Tyson and Ava have so much fun playing together! They are exactly a year apart. She'll be 3 the day before Tyson's 2nd birthday!
They go to the same daycare and we're going to have their birthday parties together this year!! They were giggling at each other as they were rocking in the chair! Too cute!

Derick turns the big 2-9!!

We celebrated Derick's 29th birthday last night! I made him lasagna and his parents came up for dinner and cake. I ordered him a cute little cake from Hyvee and made him hold it and take a picture with it:) He was thrilled.

Do you have tickets to the gun show??

Tyson was showing off his guns to Auntie Becky this weekend. He was looking pretty smooth with her sunglasses on too!
